Synthesis, structural characterization, and application of N-doped TiO2 photocatalyst under visible-light irradiation

N-doped TiO2 nanomaterials were prepared with the sol-gel method. The structure and properties of the materials were characterized by using XRD, UV-Vis, SEM, EDX, and IR techniques. The optimal dose of ammonium chloride for doping is 600 mg. The optical absorption edge of N-TiO2 displays a redshift, and a long tail occurs in the presence of nitrogen in the material. Thereby, N-TiO2 may exhibit improved absorption properties under visible light and the solar irradiation. The photocatalytic activity was investigated on the degradation of rhodamine B. The optimal amount of the photocatalyst is 1.8 g/L under visible light

Evaluation of plant growth regulators on root formation of semihardwood and hardwood cuttings of Sarcandra glabra (Thunb.) Nakai

The aim of this study is to evaluate the effects of three types of plant growth regulators (α- naphthyl acetic acid, indole-3-acetic acid and β-indol butyric acid) on the root formation of the semihardwood and hardwood cuttings of Sarcandra glabra (Thunb.) Nakai. The effects of plant growth regulators on root formation were evaluated based on living percentage, rooting percentage, secondary rooting percentage, and the number and the length of roots. The results showed that the best root growth regulator was β-IBA. The overall effective concentrations of growth regulators were 1.0 and 1.5%. The living percentage of the semihardwood cuttings was lower than that of the hardwood cuttings. However, the root growth parameters of the semihardwood cuttings were better than those of the hardwood cuttings.

Blaschke, Separation Theorems and some Topological Properties for Orthogonally Convex Sets

In this paper, we deal with analytic and geometric properties of orthogonally convex sets. We establish a Blaschke-type theorem for path-connected and orthogonally convex sets in the plane using orthogonally convex paths. The separation of these sets is established using suitable grids. Consequently, a closed and orthogonally convex set is represented by the intersection of staircase-halfplanes in the plane. Some topological properties of orthogonally convex sets in dimensional spaces are also given.Comment: 17 pages, 10 figures, adding more reference

What Makes for an Effective Commune Health Center?

This report, based on the main findings from a large-scale longitudinal study of rural health care in Viet Nam from 2008 to 2016, aims to develop the basic components of effective commune health center (CHC) models for different rural areas in Viet Nam.CHCs form the grassroots public health care system in rural Viet Nam, where two-thirds of the country's people live. The centers provide basic preventive care along with initial diagnoses, treatments and referrals to public hospitals. The report includes:A toolkit for assessing CHCs in different contexts identifying best practicesAn analysis of three models for the effective CHCPolicy recommendations aimed at developing major components of CHC model

On simultaneous diagonalization via congruence of real symmetric matrices

Simultaneous diagonalization via congruence (SDC) for more than two symmetric matrices has been a long standing problem. So far, the best attempt either relies on the existence of a semidefinite matrix pencil or casts on the complex field. The problem now is resolved without any assumption. We first propose necessary and sufficient conditions for SDC in case that at least one of the matrices is nonsingular. Otherwise, we show that the singular matrices can be decomposed into diagonal blocks such that the SDC of given matrices becomes equivalently the SDC of the sub-matrices. Most importantly, the sub-matrices now contain at least one nonsingular matrix. Applications to simplify some difficult optimization problems with the presence of SDC are mentioned

International audienceThis paper proposes a model for building a flexible system, which accepts and verifies the change on business logic, including both business processes and business rules, while the system has to cover the properties as reliability and reuse. In this model, the business process will be designed with Colour Petri Net and translated into a set of Event-Condition-Action rules, this set will be combined with business rules for checking the respect of a business process to the business rules in design and modifying the process. Hierarchical Colour Petri Net is also used to guarantee the reliability and to reuse properties of the system.
